The Studio Framework is for artists who want less chaos —

not less control.

Studios often rely on the artist to keep everything moving. But as the work grows or shifts, what once worked stops working.
The Studio Framework offers studio consulting for artists through two focused services: Studio Redesign and Agile Workflow. Both are grounded in project management for artists and designed to reduce friction, build clarity, and create artist studio systems that actually support the work.

Rooted in agile for artists and thoughtful studio layout optimization, this work helps establish the creative studio workflow and structure your practice needs — with flexibility built in.

Chaos is not a long-term strategy.

The mess isn’t just visual. It’s structural.
Most artists outgrow their systems before they realize it — leading to scattered files, clogged workflows, and constant context-switching.
We help you shift from reactive to organized, without sacrificing momentum.

What happens when a studio becomes easier to run.

Small shifts in structure can lead to big changes in clarity, flow, and capacity. Here’s what that’s looked like for some artists.

“I work with a mix of part-time and freelance assistants — sometimes just for a few days. Before, it felt like I had to explain everything from scratch every time. Now, the setup is clear — where things are, what needs doing, how to move through the work. New people can get oriented without me walking them through every step.”

“After 20 years of mostly working alone, I brought in a full-time assistant — and suddenly the space just didn’t work anymore. It was crowded, disorganized, and only I halfway knew where anything was. When works came back from institutions, they got stacked in the corner — there was no system.
Now, things flow. I don’t have to explain everything. We know where things are, and how things move.”

“I travel a lot, and before, I’d come back to a mess of emails and updates — but no real sense of where things stood. We were sending PDFs back and forth, or losing track in threads. Now, everything’s on the board. I can check in from anywhere and actually see what’s happening — what’s in progress, what’s blocked, what’s done. We’re more in sync, even when I’m away.”
→ Agile Workflow client

“Before, even small projects felt heavy. There was no real system — just a lot of asking, emailing, checking in. We’d tried tools, but no one really knew how to use them. Now, we have one shared board, clear roles, and weekly check-ins. Things move forward without bottlenecks, and I’ve been able to take on more — not by pushing harder, but because we’re working better together.”

How it works

1. Walkthrough Call
Every project with The Studio Framework begins with a walkthrough — either live or through detailed photos and video. We look closely at how your studio runs: how the work moves, where things slow down, and what’s taking up too much of your time or attention. Whether you’re working alone or with a team, this step reveals the patterns and pressure points a studio redesign or system reset can address.

2. Custom Studio Plan
You’ll receive a structured, tailored action plan — the core of the studio redesign. It may include layout adjustments, zoning, equipment and storage recommendations, signage, and lightweight workflow systems that clarify roles and routines. Every part of the plan is grounded in how your studio actually functions, and where you want it to go next.
The Studio Framework treats studio redesign not as a makeover, but as a foundation for smoother operations.

3. Support While You Implement
Once the plan is in motion, The Studio Framework provides support as needed — through live check-ins or async Q&A. Whether you’re reconfiguring furniture, onboarding assistants, or integrating new tools, you’ll have help troubleshooting and adapting along the way.
The goal is a studio that stays aligned with your practice — not just at the start, but as it evolves.

About The Studio Framework

This work comes out of years working across exhibitions, design, and studio systems — developing shows, coordinating production, building custom solutions, and solving what wasn’t working.

I’ve seen how often the artist ends up being the system. They carry the schedule, the materials, the priorities, the handoffs. And over time, that load slows everything down — especially in studios with assistants or collaborators.

The Studio Framework is built to shift that. Drawing from agile project management, interior and exhibition design, and years of coaching professionals across disciplines, I help artists build studios that run more clearly — both in layout and in workflow.

Because when a studio isn’t organized to support the work, things slip: deadlines, communication, opportunities. Clarity and structure create more room to focus — and make it easier for others to contribute.

This isn’t about making things look nice. It’s about making them work — so that space, tools, and people move together, without constant direction.

I only take on projects where the support will make a real difference — where we can build a studio setup and system that holds, evolves, and supports your practice long-term.

Structure supports intuition.

This isn’t about rigidity — it’s about building enough structure that the studio becomes easier to step into, easier to share, and easier to trust.
Less decision fatigue. Fewer bottlenecks. More flow.
